We had some fun ‘Harry Potter inspired’ care of magical creatures today. They chose a creature to write about and tomorrow we’ll do some art and paint/draw that creature. I’ve dusted off the Hogwarts on my bookshelf & organized books. I’m still in planning mode & not quite ready to start the next school year but we’re getting a tad restless and ready to learn again. I think maybe Aug 17th when we’re back from a family vacation, or maybe Sept IF we finally get our summer back as we’ve been cooped up from wildfire smoke ( it finally poured today!!). Basically this is my 7th year homeschooling and I’m far more relaxed about it all! I remember the pressure to have the perfect back to homeschool day or week a few years back. Now we ease into the year and it’s so much better for us that way. Have you started? Two days a week I select the copywork from either Brave Writer literature, some of my nature unit studies or after morning basket books. Other days I get the kids to choose their copywork of choice which allows them to get used to self directed learning.
